🟡 Introduction
We live in a world that is constantly moving forward, but our spiritual life cannot remain stagnant.
The cross of Christ is not just a historical event—it is a voice that still echoes today… an echo of grace that transforms our identity, our hearts, and the way we live.
🔴The cross reveals who you are without Christ
📖 Ephesians 2:1
The story of the prodigal son in Luke 15 shows us a powerful truth:
without God, we are not just confused… we are lost.
That young man:
- Had everything, yet chose to walk away
- Ended up empty, hungry, and without purpose
- Had to hit rock bottom to come to his senses
That’s how we were:
- Not wounded… but spiritually dead
- Not weak… but unable to save ourselves
The cross confronts us with this truth:
👉 Without Christ, we cannot save ourselves.
🔵The cross reveals who Christ is to you
📖 2 Corinthians 5:21
Jesus didn’t just come to show us the way…
👉 He took our place.
Like the thief on the cross:
- He had no merits
- He had no time to change
- He only had faith
And still, Jesus said:
“Today you will be with Me in paradise.”
That is grace.
📌 Key difference:
- Mercy → God does not give you what you deserve
- Grace → God gives you what you don’t deserve
He didn’t just forgive you…
✨ He made you righteous, gave you a new identity, and brought you close to the Father.
🟢 The cross reveals how we should live
📖 John 8:1–11
The woman caught in adultery deserved condemnation…
but Jesus gave her something different:
Forgiveness… and direction
“Neither do I condemn you… go and sin no more.”
This teaches us something powerful:
- We don’t change to be accepted
- We are accepted, and then we change
Grace is not an excuse to sin…
🔥 It is the power to live differently
💡 Practical Application
If today you understood God’s grace:
- 🔹 Stop living in guilt → Christ already paid
- 🔹 Stop justifying sin → Christ called you higher
- 🔹 Start living with purpose → Christ lives in you
📖 Galatians 2:20
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me”
🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your amazing grace.
I recognize that without You I was lost, but today I understand that You have given me life, identity, and purpose.
Help me live according to what You did for me on the cross.
Today I surrender my life to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Sincerely, Pastor Guillermo Ayala
