📖 Luke 9:23
📖 Matthew 4:19
📖 Hebrews 10:24
True faith is not a faith that is only observed, consumed, or enjoyed from a place of comfort. Transforming faith is sticky faith—a faith that clings to the heart, is lived out daily, and moves us to follow Jesus with commitment.
Today, many people live their relationship with God as spectators: they hear the Word, receive blessings, but never take the step into discipleship. However, Jesus never called consumers… He called disciples.
✝️ Following Jesus requires surrender and decision
📖 “If anyone wants to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)
Being a disciple is not about attending occasionally or seeking only what benefits us. Jesus makes it clear that following Him requires self-denial, releasing control, and walking daily according to His will.
Discipleship is not an event; it is a lifestyle.
🎣 God calls ordinary people for an eternal purpose
📖 “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)
Jesus called ordinary men and turned them into extraordinary instruments. He did not look for perfection; He looked for willingness. The call was not only to believe, but to follow Him and become active participants in His work.
Sticky faith moves us from “I receive” to “I am sent.”
🤝 Faith grows stronger in community and in action
📖 “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.” (Hebrews 10:24)
Discipleship is not lived in isolation. God calls us to walk together, to build one another up, and to provoke spiritual growth in others. Passive faith grows cold; active faith multiplies.
Today the question is clear and direct:
Are you living your faith as a spectator or as a disciple?
Sticky faith does not stay on the sidelines. It gets involved, obeys, serves, and remains. Jesus is still saying today, “Follow Me.” The decision is personal, but the impact is eternal.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, today I choose to leave behind a comfortable and superficial faith. I want to follow You with all my heart, deny myself, and live as a true disciple. Make my faith living, active, and contagious. Amen.
Sincerely,
Pastor Guillermo Ayala
