Introduction

We live in a world where everything is constantly changing: opinions, circumstances, and trends. However, there is one truth that remains firm forever: God is sovereign.

Knowing this truth not only strengthens our faith, but also gives us stability in every situation. When we understand who God is, we learn to trust Him completely.

God is the Supreme Champion

In life, we see how people compete to be the best. In sports, at work, and in many areas, there are always debates about who is the greatest. But there is one reality that cannot be questioned: God has never lost a battle.

Psalm 115:3 declares that God is in heaven and does whatever pleases Him. This means there is no circumstance that can overcome Him and no situation outside of His control.

If God has never been defeated, then we can trust that He is also in control of our battles.

His sovereignty is by essence, not by title

God is not sovereign because someone chose Him or because He holds a position. He is sovereign by His very nature. It is part of who He is.

Unlike human beings, God does not change, improve, or weaken. He is perfect, eternal, and unchanging. His authority was not given to Him; it has always been His.

Therefore, when we trust God, we are not trusting in something temporary, but in someone eternal and unshakable.

God does whatever He pleases

Isaiah 46:10 teaches that God fulfills all His purposes and does whatever He wants. This can be difficult to accept, because many times we want God to act according to our own will.

However, true faith consists of surrendering to His will and recognizing that His plans are better than ours.

God does not improvise or make mistakes. Everything He does has a perfect purpose, even when we do not understand it at the moment.

His sovereignty does not distance Him from us

We might think that because God is so great and powerful, He is distant. But the truth is the opposite.

Psalm 115:9 reminds us that He is our helper and our shield. God is close to those who seek Him and trust in Him.

His sovereignty does not make Him unreachable, but trustworthy. We can come to Him at any time, knowing that He hears and responds.

Conclusion

God is sovereign, eternal, and perfect. He has never lost a battle, and He never will.

That is why we can fully trust Him, no matter what circumstances we face. Our security is not in what we see, but in who reigns over everything.

Prayer

Lord, I recognize that You are sovereign over all things.
Today I choose to trust in Your will and rest in Your power.
Help me to live by faith, knowing that You are in control of my life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
