✨ Introduction
God has always sought men and women who don’t just live… but who understand the time they are living in.
It’s not just about existing, but about discerning, interpreting, and acting correctly according to God’s will.
🔍 We Need Spiritual Discernment
Spiritual discernment is the ability to see beyond the natural.
Not everything that looks good comes from God, and not everything difficult means God is absent.
Discernment:
- Protects us from deception
- Guides us into truth
- Aligns us with God’s will
📌 Without discernment, we can be active… but outside of God’s purpose.
🧭 Practical Direction
The sons of Issachar didn’t just understand the times…
👉 they knew what to do
True understanding produces action.
God doesn’t just want to reveal things to you,
He wants to give you practical direction for your daily life:
- Decisions
- Relationships
- Ministry
- Purpose
📌 Understanding without action transforms nothing.
✝️ Christ as the Supreme Model
Our greatest example is Jesus.
Jesus always knew:
- What to do
- When to do it
- How to do it
He walked in perfect sensitivity to the Father.
📖 John 5:19 teaches us that He only did what He saw the Father doing.
📌 If we want to understand the times, we must look to Christ.
🔑 5 Keys to Understanding the Times
1. Return to the Word 📖
The Bible is the filter that allows us to correctly interpret what we experience.
👉 Without the Word, there is no secure direction.
2. Pray for Discernment 🙏
Discernment is not automatic—it must be sought.
📌 God reveals Himself to those who seek Him.
3. Surround Yourself with People Who Love Christ 🤝
Right relationships strengthen your spiritual vision.
👉 People who hunger for God push you toward your purpose.
4. Learn to Listen to the Holy Spirit 🕊️
God is still speaking today.
But we need:
- Sensitivity
- Stillness
- Intimacy
📌 The Holy Spirit is the One who guides you at the right time.
5. Act with Courage ⚔️
It’s not enough to know… you must obey.
👉 Many understand, but few dare to act.
📌 Courageous obedience activates God’s purpose.

We are living in times that require spiritual clarity.
God is raising up a generation that:
- Discerns
- Understands
- Acts
Today is the day to decide:
👉 Will you live confused… or will you become someone who understands the times?

Lord,
give me discernment to understand the times I am living in.
Open my spiritual eyes,
teach me to hear Your voice
and to walk in obedience.
I want to be like the sons of Issachar—
someone who not only understands…
but also does Your will.
