Key Verse: Philippians 4:13

Introduction

The Apostle Paul declares: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). This truth reminds us that we do not live depending on our own strength, but on the power of Christ who sustains us. In Matthew 9:1-9 we see two clear examples: a paralyzed man who receives healing and forgiveness, and Matthew, a tax collector, who responds to Jesus’ call. Both experienced God’s strength by putting their faith into action.

God Is the Strength of My Life (Matthew 9:1-7)

When the paralyzed man was brought before Jesus, the Lord first said to him: “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” (v.2). Before healing his body, Jesus healed his heart. Then, with His authority, He commanded him to get up and walk.
This passage teaches us that Christ is our complete strength: He forgives our sins, heals our wounds, and gives us new life. When everything seems impossible, He becomes our strength to rise up and move forward.

Putting Faith into Action (Matthew 9:2, 9)

The faith of the paralyzed man and of those who carried him was rewarded. They not only believed, but they acted: they moved, brought him to Jesus, and trusted in His power. Later, in verse 9, Matthew heard Jesus say: “Follow me,” and he immediately rose up, leaving everything behind.
This shows us that true faith is always expressed through action: believing and obeying. In this way, we experience the power of Christ who strengthens and transforms.

Conclusion

The paralyzed man was raised up, and Matthew left behind his old life because they decided to believe and act in faith. You too can experience the strength of Christ in every area of your life if you place your trust in Him and walk in obedience.

🙌 Pray today: “Lord, thank You because in You I have forgiveness, healing, and strength. Help me to put my faith into action and to follow You with all my heart. Amen.”
