“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
— 1 John 1:7
Fellowship with God
“God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” — 1 John 1:5
The foundation of all true community begins with God. He is not only the Creator of life but also the perfect standard of purity, truth, and love. To live in fellowship with God is to live in the light. This means living with transparency, sincerity, and obedience to His Word. As we draw near to Him, we are transformed, and so are our relationships. In a community centered around God, darkness has no place.
Fellowship with Believers
When we walk in the light, fellowship with others who also walk in the light naturally follows. The Christian life was not meant to be lived in isolation but in community. We need each other to grow, to lovingly correct one another, to encourage one another in faith, and to serve together. In this walk, fellowship means more than just spending time together — it means sharing life and spiritual growth. God’s light unites us and removes division.
The Community of Forgiven Sinners
The church is a community of imperfect people who have been reached by the grace of God. We are not a community of the righteous because of our own deeds, but of sinners forgiven by the blood of Christ. This reminds us to live humbly, to extend grace to others, and not to judge harshly. In this community, we are all in a process of sanctification, and God’s forgiveness sustains us day by day.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for calling me to live in Your light. Help me stay close to You and have true fellowship with my brothers and sisters in the faith. May Your light shine in my life and be reflected in my relationships. Thank You for the forgiveness You give and for including me in Your beautiful community of redeemed children. Amen.
Sincerely,
Pastor Guillermo Ayala
